In 2009, Seventh Sense was engaged by the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport to develop an Environment, Health and Safety Management System for both DoT as well as the Abu Dhabi Transport Sector. These EHSMSs were developed in consultation with the transport sector nominated entities and were in line with the new Abu Dhabi Emirate EHS Law and regulatory requirements. The Transport Sector and DoT EHSMSs were approved within 1 week of submission to the Abu Dhabi Environment Agency (Competent Authority) and were assessed as having fully met all the requirements of the Abu Dhabi Emirate EHS Law.
Seventh Sense was engaged by Department of Transport to assist in the implementation of its approved DoT Internal EHSMS and associated programs. Our brief was to assist DoT in achieving implementation of the DoT Internal EHSMS in its main offices and operations, including the Al Bateen C1 and C2 Buildings, its Maritime Office Building, its Aviation Office building, and its Bus Office and station. Seventh Sense was also responsible for preparing, guiding and mentoring the DoT staff to ensure DoT received international certification for both ISO14001:2007 and OHSAS18001:2008 respectively. DoT received certification for both standards in December of 2011. Our work included coordination of management programs, communication, monitoring, review and advice, and providing EHSMS training and development.
